Short history:
The performance of the training glider developed by MSrE to substitute the Hol's der Teufel - the EMESE B - had too good performance for primary training, and its designer started to formulate the requirement of a new training glider. The main goal was to create a glider which suitable for primary training in hilly glider fields and it has relatively small sinking speed to be able to perform short slope soaring tasks as well. These goals demanded to keep the empty mass under 100 kg as well as the easy assembling of the glider.
The result was the R-05 Vöcsök and its later derivative the open seat R-07a Tücsök.

Structure:  All wooden
   Wing:
The double spar wing had a rectangular form with rounded wingtips. The wing front of the forward spar was covered by plywood, behind it by fabric. The wing had streamlined steel tube 'V' struts.
   Fuselage:
The forward part of the fuselage was a simple plywood covered strong keel. The fuselage behind the wing's trailing edge was a wire braced open frame structure.
   Tail unit:
Both stabilizers' leading edges were covered by plywood. All other parts were fabric covered. The horizontal stabilizer was wire braced.

Covered version.
One glider was modified fitting it with a light cover. This cover consisted of two parts: a fixed one behind the pilot seat and a removable front part. The pilot took his/her seat the front cover removed and then it was fitted and fastened.
